Depending on your point of view, one of the biggest benefits of the streaming revolution has been shortening theatrical exclusivity windows. In other words, movies that debut in theaters are now landing on top streaming services much faster than they used to, and this weekend Ben Affleck’s new drama Nike, Airreceive treatment on demand.
The Matt Damon impersonator is now available to stream on Prime Video – only arriving in theaters in April – and joined this week’s list of new picks by Mother on Netflix, Muppet Confusion on Disney Plus and many more new titles.
Below, we’ve rounded up seven new movies and TV shows you can watch on streaming services over the next few days.
Air (main video)
If you missed Ben Affleck’s new Nike drama, Air, in theaters last month: Have No Fear. The movie is now available to stream (no less for free) on Prime Video.
Starring Matt Damon, Viola Davis, Chris Tucker, Jason Bateman and Affleck himself, this authentic sports biopic follows the development of the iconic Nike Air Jordan basketball shoes – although Michael Jordan himself does not actually star.
Critics’ verdicts ranged from “unsatisfying” to “a joy to watch” when the film debuted in April, so we’re inclined to believe that Air may yet earn a spot on our list the best Prime Videos.
Now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
Mother (Netflix)
Originally scheduled to be released in 2022, Mother finally hitting Netflix this weekend.
In this paint-by-numbers thriller, Jennifer Lopez stars as a deadly assassin who comes out of hiding to protect the daughter she sacrificed years ago. Gael Garcia Bernal, Joseph Fiennes and Omari Hardwick are among the film’s supporting cast.
Honestly, Lopez herself deserved praise for her “cool” performance in the film Mother, but overall the film was largely panned by critics. Don’t expect it to be on our list best Netflix movies coming soon, but if you want an action movie starring one of the world’s most charismatic actors, it’s worth a try.

Classroom ’09 (Hulu)

This eight-episode drama jumps between the past, present and future to illustrate how artificial intelligence (AI) technology is affecting both positively and negatively the US criminal justice system. Sounds ominous.
